A note about summer 2026

Expecting Dry Conditions:

Adjustments to Summer 2026 Booking

Colorado is experiencing a dry winter...

This winter brought extremely low snowfall across Colorado. Because of that, the mountains will wake up earlier, dry out faster, and have a shorter peak wildflower season than usual.

Instead of scheduling sessions by calendar date (for example: “July always has flowers”), I’ll be scheduling based on real‑time mountain conditions so you get the most beautiful scenery possible.

This protects your photos — and your experience.

What this means for your session:

Earlier blooms:

Wildflowers may bloom 2–3 weeks earlier than normal and peak quickly.

Shorter peak season:

Instead of lasting most of July, peak color may only last about 1–2 weeks in each location.

Earlier dryness:

By late summer, some areas may already look golden instead of green (which can still be beautiful — just a different aesthetic).

Possible fire restrictions:

Some trails, roads, or forests may temporarily close if conditions become unsafe.

FAQ

Backup plans (so your session never falls apart):

Every mountain session includes a beautiful alternative location in case of smoke, closures, or early fading blooms.

Examples of backup aesthetics:

Creekside greenery

Pine forest shade

Alpine lakes

Aspen groves

Golden mountain grass at sunset

You will still receive a magical, intentional setting — not a last‑minute replacement.

Safety practices

Your family’s safety always comes first. I monitor conditions daily before sessions and adjust when needed.

For extremely dry conditions we may:

Move to a nearby safer trail

Shift to sunrise or shaded locations

Change elevation

Rescheduling is only used if conditions become unsafe across all accessible locations.

We avoid all spark or flame props and only park in designated gravel areas to prevent fire risk.

What you can expect from me

You don’t need to track snowpack, flowers, smoke, or closures — that’s my job.

I am constantly monitoring:

Bloom timing

Trail access

Air quality

Fire restrictions

My goal is simple: your session should feel relaxed and beautiful, not stressful or uncertain.

If you want a mountain session but prefer me to choose the best timing for you, just let me know your general availability and I’ll take care of the rest.
